Expected execution of subscription cancellation reason codes

Problem Statement

This article helps you understand expected execution of subscription cancellation reason codes.

Scope

How to include a cancellation reason code when cancellation is scheduled for a subscription?

Solution Chargebee is adapted to enforce the cancellation reason in the event that the subscription is canceled immediately or scheduled at the end of the term or on a specific date if the reason code is set to mandatory. Here are the screenshots from the UI when changes are pushed from the admin panel.

Reason codes that are configured will appear for selection as Cancellation reason when subscriptions are canceled (immediately, at the end of the term, or on a specific date) via Chargebee UI or Self-serve Portal

The API called to initiate the cancellation request is ignored (Param: cancel_reason_code) and not included in the response received as referred to in the screenshot below. We apologize for not having specified the same on the documentation.
