Introducing the Chargebee CLI

Convert Quote to Subscription

Once your customer accepts a new business quote by email, acceptance link, or eSignature, you can convert the quote into a subscription by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Quote details page. The quote stays Proposed after you send it. Chargebee changes the status to Accepted when the customer completes the eSignature. If the customer confirmed another way, such as by email, select Accepted from the status menu.

  2. Under Quote Management, click Create Subscription to convert the quote and create a subscription record from the quote.

  3. On the Create Subscription pop-up, select your preferred settings for the subscription and click Confirm.

  4. Verify the charges and click Create.

  5. The subscription record is created from the quote, and the quote status changes to Invoiced. You can view the linked subscription under the Subscription details section of the quote details page.

  6. Click the Subscription ID to navigate to the subscription record and view further details along with the associated invoice.

Update a subscription from an amendment or renewal quote

Amendment and renewal quotes change an existing subscription instead of creating a new one. Follow the same steps to convert them. Once the quote is Accepted, the quote details page shows Update Subscription instead of Create Subscription. Click Update Subscription to apply the accepted changes to the subscription.

Convert a one-time charge quote

A one-time charge quote bills a one-time fee. Converting it creates a one-time invoice, or associates the charge with a subscription as a one-time charge. Once the quote is Accepted, click Convert to Invoice on the quote details page, and confirm in the Convert this Quote? dialog. Chargebee creates a one-time invoice with the quote's line items. When the charge is associated with a subscription, it stays a one-time charge. The quote status changes to Invoiced.
