How to get a report on the "Category" of an Item (Plan, Addon or Charge)?

Problem statement

This article explains how to create a report in Chargebee to identify the category of an item, such as Plan, Addon, or Charge.

Solution

You can create a detailed report in RevenueStory > Report Builder by adding item-related fields and filtering the report based on Product Type and Charge Type. Chargebee Report Builder supports detailed reports with selectable fields and filters.

Setup instructions

  1. Go to RevenueStory > Report Builder.
  2. Click Build New Report.
  3. Select Detailed Report.
  4. Add the following fields:
    • Product Type
    • Charge Type
    • Accounting Category 1
    • Accounting Category 2
    • SKU
    • Any other compatible field you want to include
  5. Add filters for the item category you want to report on:
    • Use Product Type to identify whether the item is a Plan or Addon
    • Use Charge Type to identify whether the item is Recurring or Non-recurring
  6. Click Build Report.

Additional information

  • To get a report for Charge items, set Product Type to Addon and Charge Type to Non-recurring.
  • Report Builder is available in RevenueStory and supports custom reports using available data sources and fields.
