You can now add merge variables in the subject line of the Emails being sent to your customers.
In your Chargebee web interface, go to Settings > Email Notifications > Enable Email Notifications. There, you can customize your automatic Email templates and add merge variables to the Email body as well as the subject line, as per your requirements, as shown below:
