I want to remove some of the reason codes

Problem Statement

This article explains how to remove or delete reason codes (including credit note reason codes) and how to fix the error "The reason is associated with one/more transactions."

Related Scenarios

  • How to remove the credit note reason code?
  • How to delete a custom reason code?
  • I get "The reason is associated with one/more transactions" when trying to delete a custom reason code. How do I fix it?

Solution

You can delete custom reason codes only if they are not linked to any entities (for example, a cancelled subscription that used that code). You can delete custom reason codes anytime via the more (ellipsis) icon. Default reason codes cannot be deleted; you can disable them so they no longer appear in the list.

Steps to Set It Up

Prerequisite: If the custom reason code was used for a subscription cancellation, resolve the "associated with one/more transactions" error by either (1) deleting the cancelled subscription or (2) reactivating it. Then you can delete the reason code.

image
  1. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Billing LogIQ > Reason Codes.
  2. Find the custom reason code to delete, click the three-ellipsis button, then Delete.
  3. To hide a reason code without deleting it, use the toggle to disable it; it will be removed from the selection list.
