Contact Field is required error with Razorpay gateway

Problem Statement

This article explains how to resolve the "Contact field is required" error during Razorpay checkout, even when the customer record already has phone details.

Solution

Razorpay requires the phone number and email fields in the Contact Info section. To fix this, make the phone number field mandatory in Chargebee.

Steps to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Checkout & Self-Serve Portal > Fields > Phone number.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Mark the Phone number field as mandatory.

This ensures the required contact details are collected at checkout and the Razorpay gateway processes the request successfully.
