DualEntry Integration

Introduction

The DualEntry integration enables seamless synchronization of journal entries between RevRec Premium and DualEntry. Once connected, RevRec Premium automatically posts journal entries to your DualEntry ledger based on your configured journal posting flow.

This integration is in Early Access. Contact Support to enable it.

Sync Overview

You can integrate your RevRec Premium site with DualEntry for journal posting. Linking RevRec Premium with DualEntry automatically pushes journal entries to the DualEntry general ledger.
Once journals are posted, their status is updated in RevRec Premium, and you can verify the entries directly in DualEntry under the Journal Entries section. This provides end-to-end visibility and control over the posting process.

Unsupported Features

Support for the following DualEntry features is not currently available:

  • Classifications – No mapping of dimensions (for example, department, location, cost center); entries are posted without these attributes.
  • Vendor ID – Journal entries are not linked to vendor records; no AP/sub-ledger association.
  • Entity-based splitting – Journal entries cannot be split by Chargebee Entity ID into separate DualEntry Company IDs.

Prerequisites

Before enabling the posting flow, ensure that the Chart of Accounts and the Journal Account Mappings are set up in Settings > Accounting. This ensures that journals are routed correctly to your DualEntry accounts.

Connecting RevRec Premium with DualEntry

Note

Only users with the Controller role or higher can perform these steps.

Follow these steps to connect your RevRec Premium site to DualEntry:

  1. Log in to your RevRec Premium site.
  2. Navigate to the environment you want to integrate with DualEntry.
  3. Go to Settings > Accounting.
  4. On the Accounting page, click the Connect your data icon.

  1. In the Connect your data pop-up, select ACJournal Posting.
  2. In the Journal Posting pop-up, choose DualEntry as your accounting system.

  1. Enter your API key to authenticate the connection. The API key can be obtained from your DualEntry administrator or DualEntry Support.

  1. Enter the company_id of your DualEntry company. All journals will be posted to this DualEntry company.

    a. This ID can be found in DualEntry via the Company menu in the navigation bar: Companies > select the relevant company and obtain the ID from the URL.

    b. Alternatively, you can fetch this using the DualEntry API.

  2. Save and reopen the connection widget. You will now see DualEntry listed as Linked.

  1. Once connected, RevRec Premium automatically publishes journal entries to DualEntry when you close an accounting period.

Configuring the Journal Posting Flow

You can configure the journal posting flow to automatically post journal entries to DualEntry.
Before enabling journal posting, ensure that your journal account mappings are correctly set up under Settings > Accounting.

Executing Journal Posting

RevRec Premium offers two ways to execute journal posting:

  • Automatic Posting: Journal entries are posted automatically based on the journal frequency configuration.
  • Manual Posting: You can manually initiate journal posting by navigating to the Post Journal page and clicking Post Journals.

A retry icon will be visible next to any failed journal entry, allowing you to retry the posting. You can track the progress via the job info in the left navigation bar.
Once posting is complete, the journal status in RevRec Premium will be updated to Success:

You can view the posted journal entries in DualEntry under Transactions > Journal Entries, with the memo set as per the journal description generated by RevRec Premium:
