Unable to enable "I have registered for GST" field in checkout portal

Problem Statement

Why can't I enable the "I have registered for GST" field in the checkout and self-serve portal?

Solution

This field can be enabled only when tax for Australia is configured. Add Australia to your Taxable countries and set Billing country as mandatory.

Steps to Set It Up

  1. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Taxes
  2. Add Australia to the list of Taxable countries and enable tax for it
  3. Ensure Billing country is set to mandatory in Checkout & Self-serve Portal > Fields
