How can customers add or update their payment information in Chargebee?

This article helps you understand how can customers add or update their payment information in chargebee.

How to request payment methods from the subscription UI?

Summary

At Chargebee, you can request payment methods using 2 different options.

1. Chargebee UI

2. Email notifications

Chargebee UI

The Request payment method option can be found on the Customers details page & Subscription details page. Navigate to Subscriptions/Customers > Request payment method (Action panel).

Email notifications

If Email Notifications is enabled on your Chargebee site, a Pay Now button will appear in your customer's email. Navigate to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Email Notifications and here, the Update Payment Method button can be added to the following email notifications, refer to this link for more details.

Solution

Using the "Request payment method" option, you can email customers a secure link to our PCI-compliant hosted pages where they can update their payment details. Once they've successfully completed it, the details will be updated in their account.

Also, Customers can log in to the customer portal and add/update their payment information, provided you've enabled the customer portal for your Chargebee site. Click here to know more.
