How do I send the customer data from PayPal to Chargebee's API endpoint to create a subscription? I have PayPal Express Checkout with Reference Transactions enabled for my PayPal business account.

Problem Statement

You want to know how do I send the customer data from paypal to chargebee's api endpoint to create a subscription? i have paypal express checkout with reference transactions enabled for my paypal business account..

Solution

To create the subscription, you will need the Billing Agreement ID(BAID) associated with the billing agreement created when a customer authorizes a payment via PayPal for the first time.

The BAID associated with the customer can be passed to Chargebee with the payment_method[reference_id] parameter, using any of the following APIs:

  • Create a Subscription API
  • Create a Customer API
  • Update Payment Method for a Customer API
