Does Use UTC on data exports affect webhook payloads?

  • Understanding the impact of the 'Use UTC on data exports' setting in Chargebee
  • Clarifying whether webhook payloads are affected by the UTC setting
  • Steps to adjust time zone settings for webhook payloads

Solution

The 'Use UTC on data exports' setting in Chargebee is specifically designed for manual exports, such as CSV files, and does not apply to webhook payloads. Webhook payloads use the time zone configured for your Chargebee site.

To ensure your webhook payloads reflect the desired time zone, you can adjust your site's time zone settings by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings: Log in to your Chargebee account and go to Settings.

    • Ensure you have the necessary permissions to change site settings.
  2. Access Configure Chargebee: Under the Settings menu, select Configure Chargebee.

  3. Select Business Profile: Within the Configure Chargebee section, click on Business Profile.

  4. Change Time Zone: Locate the time zone setting and select your preferred time zone from the dropdown menu. Navigate to Settings->Configure Chargebee->Business Profile->Time Zone

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

By following these steps, your webhook payloads will use the updated time zone settings.

Important Notes

  • The 'Use UTC on data exports' setting is limited to manual exports and does not influence webhook payloads.
  • Ensure you have the appropriate permissions to modify site settings in Chargebee.
