Why do I see "Advance charges will be issued as credits to this customer at the time Subscription pause" message while pausing a subscription?

Problem Statement

This article explains what "Advance Charges" means when pausing a subscription and when this message appears.

Solution

This message appears only when you have generated advance invoices for an upcoming billing period and the pause period overlaps that period. Prorated credits are created for the portion of the advance invoice that falls within the pause period.

What happens

  • Clicking the advance charges link takes you to the advance invoice from which the prorated credit is created.
  • If the pause period falls within the billing period of an advance invoice, prorated credits are generated.
