Subscription preview not visible when creating a subscription via HubSpot Quote-to-Cash

Problem Statement

When creating a subscription from a HubSpot deal using the Quote-to-Cash workflow, the subscription preview—which displays a breakdown of line items, charges, and taxes—does not appear.

This functionality was previously visible when creating subscriptions and is expected to show pricing details automatically after selecting a plan or when a plan is prepopulated for a product family.

Related Scenarios

This issue may occur in the following situations:

  • The plan is prepopulated automatically based on the selected product family.

  • A discount with a value of 0% is applied in the HubSpot deal.

  • The subscription is being created through the HubSpot Quote-to-Cash integration flow.

In these scenarios, users may not see the subscription preview appear even though a plan is attached to the deal.

Solution

In Chargebee, 0 is not a valid discount input.

0% discount causing subscription preview to fail

When a 0% discount is configured in HubSpot or prepopulated from the product family, the subscription preview may fail to render.

To restore the preview:

  • Remove any 0% discounts applied to line items.

  • If no discount is applicable, leave the discount field blank.

  • Re-add the product without a discount and attempt to create the subscription again.

Once corrected, the subscription preview will display as expected, showing the full breakdown of pricing and calculated taxes.

Configuration steps

Step 1: Verify product line items in HubSpot

  1. Open the HubSpot deal where the subscription is being created.
  2. Review the Products section.
  3. Check each line item for a 0% discount. If found, proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Remove or correct invalid discount values

  1. Edit the affected product line item.
  2. Remove the discount if it is set to 0%.
  3. Save the changes.

Step 3: Re-add the product if necessary

  1. If the product was prepopulated with a 0% discount, remove it from the deal.
  2. Add the product again from the catalog without selecting any discount.
  3. Click Create Subscription from the HubSpot deal page.
  4. Verify that the subscription preview appears with the correct pricing breakdown.
