How do I resolve ASSOCIATED_CUSTOMER_NOT_SYNCED in Salesforce?
Problem Statement
A Chargebee subscription, quote, invoice, or credit note fails to sync to Salesforce with reason ASSOCIATED_CUSTOMER_NOT_SYNCED. The associated customer has not synced yet, so the dependent record does not appear in Salesforce.
Related Scenarios
- The same reason appears on a quote, invoice, or credit note, not only on a subscription.
- The customer row is still failing because the matched Salesforce account has the Business Entity lookup set. Fix that customer failure before you retry the dependent record. See How do I fix Salesforce customer sync blocked by Account Business Entity?.
Solution
Use this when Chargebee for Salesforce is already connected. You need access to Chargebee Settings in the Chargebee for Salesforce app.
Sync the customer first, then retry the record that failed with ASSOCIATED_CUSTOMER_NOT_SYNCED.
- In Salesforce, open Chargebee Settings from the Chargebee for Salesforce app, then open the Sync Logs tab. If more than one site is connected, select the Chargebee domain.
- Find the failed row whose Reason is
ASSOCIATED_CUSTOMER_NOT_SYNCED. Note the Chargebee Object and Chargebee ID.
- Sync that customer before you retry the failed record. In Chargebee Settings, open Advanced Actions > Retrieve Data. Choose the customer object, enter the customer's Chargebee ID, and click Retrieve.
- After the customer sync succeeds, return to Sync Logs, select the failed subscription, quote, invoice, or credit note, and click Retry Sync.
- Confirm Error Status is no longer Failed, and that the record appears on the Salesforce account for that customer.
Important Notes
- The Salesforce integration guide lists
ASSOCIATED_CUSTOMER_NOT_SYNCEDfor subscriptions, quotes, invoices, and credit notes. Product Catalog 1.0 uses the same reason on the Sync Logs tab. - Retrieve Data does not clear a customer failure caused by the Account Business Entity lookup. Use the related article for that case, then retry the dependent record.
