How to configure and customise email notifications for internal purposes?

Problem Statement

This article explains how to configure internal alerts for your team (e.g., new subscription, invalid payment, transaction failure) and whether you can send alerts to non-Chargebee users.

Solution

Chargebee provides two types of notifications:

1. Chargebee Notifications – For internal users (admins, owners, or specific users in your organization). These can also be sent to non-Chargebee users using the Other Chargebee users option.

Steps to set up Chargebee Notifications

  1. Go to Settings > Chargebee Notifications.
  2. Enable the alerts you want.
  3. Click Manage.
  4. Select recipients and click Apply changes.

2. Email Notifications – For customers; event-driven and site-specific. You can add BCC/CC addresses to include internal recipients on customer emails.

Note:

Customers cannot be removed from Email Notifications. For custom emails via third-party tools (e.g., Zapier, Moxtra), use Webhooks.
