Overview

Sphere is a tax calculation and compliance solution that enables businesses to automate tax determination and streamline transaction reporting.

By integrating Sphere with your Chargebee Billing site, you can:

  • Seamlessly import product data from Chargebee into Sphere
  • Enable live tax calculation directly within Chargebee invoices
  • Automatically post invoices and credit notes to Sphere for processing

This integration ensures accurate tax calculations, reduces manual reconciliation, and keeps your billing workflows aligned across systems.

Prerequisites

Before integrating your Chargebee site with Sphere, ensure the following prerequisites are completed.

Chargebee

  • Product Catalogue Version:

If your Chargebee site is using Legacy Product Catalog, please contact Sphere to make necessary configuration changes.

If your site is using Latest Product Catalog, you may proceed without any additional steps.

  • API Access:

    You must generate:

    • A Read-Only API Key (for data synchronization)
    • A Sphere Tax API Key (for live tax calculation)
  • Site Name:

You will need your Chargebee site name. This can be found in your Chargebee URL.

    Example:

    https://getsphere-test.chargebee.com/dashboards

    Site name: getsphere-test

Sphere

  • You must have an active Sphere account.
  • Ensure your Sphere test or production account is properly configured before initiating the connection.

Configuration

The integration process consists of two main parts:

  1. Configure Data Synchronization from Chargebee to Sphere
  2. Configure Sphere Tax API for Live Tax Calculation
