Is it possible to merge customers that have gift subscriptions?

Problem Statement

You receive the error "Customer who has received gift details is not supported to copy from one site to another" when trying to merge customers.

Solution

Merging customers with gift subscriptions is not supported. Gift subscriptions are treated differently from regular subscriptions, so Chargebee does not allow merging when either customer has a gift subscription.

If you delete the gift subscription from the customer record, merging can proceed. Deleting gift subscriptions is not recommended unless you are sure it is appropriate.
