I want to add the request payment method and subscription info to the cancellation follow-up email

Scope

I want to add the request payment method and subscription info to the cancellation follow-up email

Why the cancellation follow-up email is not configured by default?

How to customize email content for subscription cancellation?

Summary

By default, Subscription cancellation emails such as before cancellation & on cancellation emails will have subscription details populated. However, you can manually edit or create an after-cancellation email notification using Smart Section to add a request payment method and subscription information.

Note: Some features such as Multiple Reminders/Follow-ups, Segmentation, Email attachements are availble only on selected plans. To know more, visit Chargebee's Plans and Pricing page.

Solution

Step 1: Navigate to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Email notification > Subscription cancellations > You can use 'EDIT' from active emails or 'Add notification' to add new email notification.

Step 2: To add customer/subscription details

You can customize email content using 'Add section' by clicking on the (+) that displays when you move the cursor on the corner of the box.

There will be a list of sections as mentioned below

Step 3: To add Update Payment method button.

As same as Step 2, you can add update payment method by clicking on the (+) that displays when you move the cursor on the corner of the box.

Then, you will see a pop-up window and you can click on 'Add text' to add the payment method button.

Again, click on the (+) that displays when you hover on the corner of the box, and choose 'Add button' then click on 'Update Payment Method'.

You can also add a custom button using 'Add button > Custom button' and you can add the portal link to direct the customer to 'Reactivate subscription' or 'Add Payment method' for instance and link to 'Self-Serve Portal'.

Note: By default, a portal link will be available in the email footer
