Why doesn't the Salesforce Opportunity amount reflect manual discounts?
Problem Statement
A Salesforce Opportunity amount does not include a manual discount applied in Chargebee. The Chargebee–Salesforce integration calculates the Opportunity product Discount from coupons and, for plans, from free quantity. It does not write a manual discount into the Opportunity amount.
Related Scenarios
- The Opportunity amount in Salesforce does not match the Chargebee invoice total after a manual discount.
- A coupon changes the Opportunity product Discount, and a manual discount on the same subscription does not.
Solution
There is no sync rule that adds a Chargebee manual discount to the Salesforce Opportunity amount.
The integration sets Opportunity product Discount as follows:
- For a plan, the discount percentage uses the plan's free quantity and the coupon discount.
- For an addon or a charge, the discount percentage uses the coupon discount.
Coupons of every duration are included by default. To exclude limited-period or one-time coupons from that calculation, contact Chargebee Support.
- In Salesforce, open the Opportunity linked to the Chargebee subscription.
- Open the Opportunity products and compare Discount and Total with the coupons on the subscription.
- Confirm the Opportunity amount matches the recurring plan and addon prices after those coupon discounts.
The Opportunity amount does not include the manual discount.
Important Notes
- One-time charges are not added to the Opportunity when Chargebee updates it from a subscription. See how opportunities are updated from a subscription.
- The same coupon-based Discount mapping is documented for Product Catalog 2.0 and Product Catalog 1.0.
