Introducing the Chargebee CLI

Configure a Price Ramp

Create a Price Ramp on a plan or addon price point, or manage an existing ramp from the price point detail page.

The billing cycle start for the first interval is always 1. You must define an end for each interval except the last. Leave the last interval's end blank for onwards.

Create a price ramp on an existing price point

  1. Log in to the Chargebee application.
  2. Go to Product Catalog > Plans (or Addons) and open the plan or addon.
  3. Open the price point where you want to set the ramp, or stay on the plan's Pricing table.
  4. Click Set Price Ramps.
  5. For each interval, set the Billing cycle end and either a Ramp Price or Catalog price.
    • The first interval starts at billing cycle 1.
    • Click + Add to add the next interval. The start cycle fills in from the previous interval's end.
    • On the last interval, leave the end blank for onwards. That interval is the end state of the schedule.
  6. Review the pricing preview under the table, then click Save.

Every new subscription on this price point follows the price ramp automatically. After the schedule completes, the subscriber continues on the catalog price.

Create a price ramp while adding a price point

  1. Log in to the Chargebee application.
  2. Go to Product Catalog > Plans (or Addons) and open the plan or addon.
  3. In the Pricing section, click + Add Price Point.
  4. Enter the billing frequency, pricing model, and catalog price.
  5. Optionally open Set Price Ramps and define the intervals using the same steps as Create a price ramp on an existing price point.
  6. Click Create.

If you skip ramps now, you can still set them later from the Pricing table or the price point detail page.

Edit a price ramp

After a ramp is set on a price point, manage it from the price point detail page > Price Ramps.

Edits apply to new subscriptions only. Subscribers already on the ramp keep the schedule from when their subscription was created.

  1. Log in to the Chargebee application.
  2. Go to the price point detail page > Price Ramps.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update the billing cycle ends or ramp prices, then click Save.

Archive a price ramp

Archiving stops new subscriptions from inheriting the ramp. Existing subscriptions are not affected. You can activate the ramp again later.

  1. Go to the price point detail page > Price Ramps.
  2. Click Archive and confirm.

Activate a price ramp

  1. Go to the price point detail page > Price Ramps.
  2. Click Activate and confirm.

New subscriptions on this price point inherit the ramp again.

Delete a price ramp

Delete is permanent. After delete, you can set a new price ramp on the price point.

  1. Go to the price point detail page > Price Ramps.
  2. Click Delete and confirm.
