BACS via Mollie

BACS (Bankers' Automated Clearing Services) is a widely used direct debit payment system in the United Kingdom that allows businesses to collect payments directly from customers' bank accounts.

BACS via Mollie is a payment method available to UK customers for recurring payments to businesses. Payments are automatically collected from the customer's bank account based on a direct debit mandate.

Customers authorise payments in one of the following ways:

• Online mandate setup: Customers provide their bank account details and authorize the direct debit mandate during checkout. The mandate is validated and stored securely for future payments.
• Account verification: Mollie verifies the bank account details to ensure the mandate is valid before processing the first payment.

This integration enhances checkout flexibility and improves conversion for businesses using the Chargebee platform.

Prerequisites

Follow these prerequisites before configuring BACS via Mollie in your Chargebee account:

• Mollie is configured as a payment gateway in Chargebee.
• Enable BACS Direct Debit in your Mollie account before configuring it in Chargebee.

Configure BACS via Mollie

Complete the steps below to configure your Chargebee account to accept BACS payments via the Mollie gateway:

1. Log in to your Chargebee Billing site.
2. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Payment Gateway.
3. Select Mollie from the list of configured gateways.
4. On the Configure Mollie page, enable BACS to configure BACS payments for customers in the United Kingdom.
   
5. Click Apply to save your changes.
   

Configuring Webhooks

To ensure your Chargebee–Mollie integration works seamlessly, webhooks are automatically handled by Chargebee. Unlike other payment gateways, you do not need to manually configure webhooks in your Mollie account.

Chargebee automatically sends the webhook URL as part of the request object to Mollie. This allows Chargebee to receive real-time updates from Mollie whenever certain actions (such as mandate status changes or payment updates) occur.

No additional webhook configuration is required from your end, ensuring a seamless integration experience.
