Accounting code provided doesn't exist in QuickBooks

Problem Statement

I see the error "Accounting code provided doesn't exist in QuickBooks" when syncing. How do I fix it?

Solution

This error occurs when the value in the Accounting code or Account Name field in Chargebee does not match a valid account in QuickBooks Online. You must use the Account Name from the QBO Chart of Accounts, not the account code (e.g., "2000") alone.

Example: If the QBO Chart of Accounts shows "2000 Sales," enter 2000 Sales in the Account Name field in Chargebee, not just "2000."

Note:

The accounting code "2000" from QBO will not work. You must use the full "Account Name" (e.g., "2000 Sales").

Steps to Set It Up

  1. In Chargebee, go to the plan or addon.
  2. Edit the Item price to access the Accounting Information section.
  3. Add the Account Name from QuickBooks (e.g., "2000 Sales") in the Account Name field.
  4. Save the changes.
