QuickBooks - Error code:6000; Business validation error

Problem Statement

I see an error in Chargebee: "A business validation error has occurred while processing your request" with "Business Validation Error: Do you also want to update memorized sales transactions to use the new values?" Why does this happen?

Solution

This QuickBooks Online error typically appears when you change a plan in Chargebee (e.g., price change, adding a setup cost) and the change affects an SKU or field used in a recurring (memorized) transaction in QuickBooks. QuickBooks prompts whether to update memorized transactions to use the new values.

Error code: 6000 in Chargebee

QuickBooks Settings: Recurring transactions

Additional Information

What are Recurring (Memorized) Transactions?

Recurring or memorized transactions in QuickBooks Online save plan details (payment details, customer ID, email, etc.) to avoid manual errors and reduce data entry for future transactions.

Note:

When an item is saved to a recurring transaction in QuickBooks Online, any change in plan details in Chargebee will trigger this warning.

To resolve the error, accept the update in QuickBooks Online when prompted so that memorized transactions use the new values. If the prompt does not appear in Chargebee, check the QuickBooks Online settings for recurring transactions and ensure they are configured to allow updates.
