Why am I asked to set up an account when I am accepting an invite for my organisation?

Problem Statement

This article explains why you are asked to set up or complete a Chargebee account when accepting an invitation to an existing site, and how to complete the process.

Solution

When you accept an invite to an existing Chargebee site, you may be asked to set up an account because you previously started sign-up but did not finish. The system recognizes your email and asks you to complete setup. Use a domain name for the earlier site you created (this does not affect the site you are being invited to) and set your password. After that, you can accept the invite.

The account you created earlier remains on a trial and will cancel automatically at the end of the trial; you will not be charged for it.

Steps to Set It Up

Option 1

  1. Click Accept the invitation to start the process.
  2. Set your password and domain.
  3. Return to the invitation email and click the link again to accept the invite.

Option 2

  1. Go to app.chargebee.com/login.
  2. Click Forgot password, enter your email, and complete the activation email.
  3. Return to the invitation email and click the link again to accept the invite.
