Overview
Chargebee allows merchants to create Product Bundles, grouping multiple items into a single plan offering. Bundles are treated as an item in the system and can be used when creating a new plan.
Entitlements in Bundles
Automatic Inheritance
When creating a bundle, all entitlements from included items are automatically inherited by the bundle.
Example
- Plan: Basic (10 reports)
- Add-on: Basic (20 reports) + AI Bot
Bundle Total Entitlement = 30 reports + AI Bot
Entitlement Priority Rules
If an item has entitlements defined at both the item level and the item price level, the item price-level entitlements take precedence.
Example
- Plan A: 10 reports (item level), 20 reports (monthly price level)
- Plan B: 20 reports (item level)
Bundle (monthly) = 20 (Plan A) + 20 (Plan B) = 40 reports
Viewing Entitlements in Bundled Product Plans
To view the entitlements included in a bundled product plan:
-
Go to the Plans section.
-
Select the bundled plan you want to review.
- Scroll down to the Entitlements section.
- Click the Bundles Allocation icon.
A list of available entitlements in the bundle will be displayed. This view helps you understand which features or services are included in each bundled plan.
Upgrades and Downgrades
Entitlements will update to reflect upgrades or downgrades in bundle items, replicating standard item behavior.
Subscription-Level Overrides
Any entitlement or configuration override made at the subscription level will take precedence over both item-level and bundle-level settings.
Limitations
- Bundling is not supported with grandfathering entitlements.
- Bundling is not supported if there are separate entitlements set at variant level.
- Overriding entitlements at the bundle level is currently not supported but planned.
