How to map existing customers in Chargebee to existing customers in Xero/QuickBooks/NetSuite?

Problem Statement

How do I map existing customer records in Chargebee to existing customers in Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite? Is it possible to map customers that already exist in both systems?

Solution

You can map existing customers on your Chargebee site to existing customers in Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite. Chargebee support performs this mapping manually using a CSV file you provide with the customer IDs from both systems.

Steps to Set It Up

  1. Get the Chargebee customer ID:

    Go to the customer record in Chargebee and copy the customer ID.

  1. Get the internal ID in your accounting system:

    Open the customer record in Xero, QuickBooks, or NetSuite. The internal ID is usually visible in the URL or in the customer details.

  1. Fill the CSV template:

    Use the appropriate template for your accounting system:

    • Xero: Xero customer mapping.csv
    • QuickBooks: QBO Customer Mapping.csv
    • NetSuite: NS Customer Mapping.csv
  2. Share the CSV with Chargebee support:

    Send the completed CSV to Chargebee support to map the customers from the back end.

Note:

If you share the internal ID of a customer that is already mapped to another record, the old mapping will be removed and the record will be remapped to the new customer record in the file.
