How do I cancel a subscription in Chargebee?

Problem Statement

You want to know how do I cancel a subscription in chargebee. This article also covers:

Is it possible to schedule a cancellation for the next renewal?

Will the customer be charged during cancelation when I schedule it to happen on the next renewal?

Solution

You can do this from the subscription details page in your Chargebee web interface.

Navigate to the subscription details page by clicking the subscription ID and hit Cancel Subscription (on the right panel)*.

After you click "Cancel Subscription", you will see the options to either cancel the subscription immediately or end of term or on a specific date.

If you want the subscription to be canceled immediately, you can click "Cancel immediately". Selecting this option will move the subscription to Non-Renewing state which means the customer will not be charged anymore and the subscription will be automatically canceled on renewal.
