Summary

By default, the addons or plan units will be displayed in the drop-down list with the limited quantity however, you can also mention the quantity manually. You can enable this by navigating to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Checkout & Self-Serve Portal > Portal > Allow customers to change plan quantity/Allow customers to change addon quantity

Solution

Navigate to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Checkout & Self-Serve Portal > Portal > Allow customers to change plan quantity/Allow customers to change addon quantity and toggle the button to enable these settings which will allow the users to edit and manage quantity for plans and addons.

Also, you can specify if you want this feature to be enabled only for 'Recurring'/ 'Non-Recurring' or both.

PC 2.0

Also, you can specify if you want this feature to be enabled only for 'Addon/'Charges' or both.

There are three types of options available for unit-based Plans/Addons.

  1. Quantity-based increment (Predefined drop-down)

  2. Drop-down text box (Default drop-down)

  3. Usage-based (Metered Billing)

Quantity-based increment

Default Drop-down

This feature provides a default drop-down list and also provides a text box to manually enter the units. This drop-down is not applicable to the flat-fee price model.

Usage-based

This is the enhanced Metered billing feature that is available only on PC 2.0 and the user would not be able to define the units because of its usage-based configuration that can be defined only by you.

The units are defined at the plan or addon level from Chargebee UI or via API. You will see this option only if you have the Metered billing feature enabled a the Plan-level.

You can add/remove/manage the units from the Subscription details page.
