In-App vs Full-Page Feature Comparison

Chargebee offers Checkout in two layouts: In-App Checkout and Full-Page Checkout. In-App Checkout displays checkout as a pop-up within a web page, while Full-Page Checkout opens a standalone page dedicated to checkout. Learn more about layout options and switching between them.

This document compares In-App Checkout and Full-Page Checkout. Review the features below to understand compatibility differences.

Differences in capabilities

Here are the major differences between the two layouts. Refer to the descriptions and screenshots for details:

1. Embedded Checkout: You can embed Full-Page Checkout in your website or application using the Embedded Checkout feature. In-App Checkout does not support embedding.

2. Product images support: Only Full-Page Checkout supports rendering product images on the checkout page. Add product images to enhance the Full-Page Checkout experience, as shown below:

   

3. HTML flexibility for product descriptions: Full-Page Checkout supports HTML rendering for detailed product descriptions, enriching the customer experience. In-App Checkout does not support this feature. Use HTML to create visually appealing descriptions that capture customer attention.

4. Customizing layouts: Customize the Full-Page Checkout layout to match your website's fonts, colors, and design guidelines for a consistent look and feel. This feature is exclusive to Full-Page Checkout.

Differences in payment options

In-App Checkout supports all payment methods offered by Chargebee. Full-Page Checkout supports a curated set of payment methods:

1. Cards
2. Wallets: Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal
3. Direct debit:
   • ACH via Stripe and GoCardless
   • SEPA via Adyen, Stripe, and GoCardless
   • Autogiro and BACS via GoCardless
