The Multi-Business Entity (MBE) feature allows you to create and manage multiple entities within Chargebee.
In many countries, regions, or jurisdictions, an invoice is a legal document that must follow specific rules. When entities have extensive legal requirements for invoice presentation or delivery, local services often bridge the gap. With Chargebee's Multi-Business Entity functionality, invoicing and taxation capabilities for multiple business entities are supported. Invoices are mapped to specific legal entities, and entity-specific billing addresses and sequencing are generated.
User roles define the access level assigned to a user and the configuration permissions for updating details at the site or entity level. Review the table below for more information:
Configuration Permission | Admin Access | Site Settings | Entity Settings |
---|---|---|---|
Invoices, Credit Notes, and Quotes | Site Admin | Yes | Yes |
Entity Admin | No | Yes |
Site-level settings apply to all business entities by default. Businesses can send invoices to customers from specific entities. The "billed from" information will represent the correct entity, inheriting the predefined entity relationship for a customer.
The following are the site-level settings applicable to Invoices:
While site-level settings apply to all entities, you can also define entity-specific configurations. When switching from site configuration to entity configuration, you will land on the same page at the entity level. Otherwise, you will be redirected to the dashboard page in the entity view.
Entity-level configuration allows you to modify the following fields:
Click Add to configure a signature for the applicable entity.
Customize the invoice title, numbering, and notes. You can also configure payment instructions. Use the Preview Invoice function to view a sample invoice.
Customize the credit note title, numbering, and notes. Use the Preview Credit Note function to view a sample credit note.
Customize the quote title, numbering, and notes. You can also configure payment instructions and signatures. Use the Preview Quote function to view a sample quote.
