    Alipay via Stripe

This feature is a Private Beta release. Contact Chargebee Support to enable Alipay via Stripe for your live and test sites.

    Introduction

Alipay is a single-use wallet-based payment method that requires your customer's authentication.

Customers are redirected from your website or app to Alipay to authorize the payment. After authentication, customers return to your site, where you receive immediate notification of whether the payment succeeded or failed.

This integration enhances checkout flexibility and improves conversion for businesses using the Chargebee platform.

    Key Features

Following are the key features of Alipay via Stripe integration:

    • Supports one-time (say one-time charges) and recurring (subscriptions) payments (requires Stripe approval).
    • Manual capture is not supported; it refers to capturing authorized payments later rather than immediately at checkout.
    • Customer authentication handled entirely by Alipay
    • Supports currencies enabled for Alipay via Stripe
    • Available through:

    Prerequisites

Before configuring Alipay via Stripe in Chargebee:

    2. Navigate to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Payment Gateway.
    3. Select Stripe from the list of configured gateways.
    4. On the Configure Stripe page, enable Alipay to configure payments for Chinese customers.

    Configuring Webhooks

To ensure your Chargebee–Stripe integration works as expected, you must configure webhooks in Stripe to listen for specific events.

Webhooks allow Chargebee to receive real-time updates from Stripe when actions such as refunds occur.

For this integration to function correctly, the following event must be enabled:

These events notify Chargebee about the creation, failure, or update of a refund transaction in Stripe, ensuring accurate reflection within your Chargebee account.
