Amazon Pay via Stripe

This feature is a Private Beta Release. Contact Chargebee Support to enable Amazon Pay via Stripe for your live and test sites.

Chargebee now supports Amazon Pay through the Stripe payment gateway, enabling merchants to offer Amazon's secure and convenient checkout experience directly within Chargebee. With this integration, customers can quickly complete payments using their Amazon account details while merchants continue to manage payment processing via Stripe. This enhances checkout flexibility and improves conversion for businesses using the Chargebee platform.

When customers select Amazon Pay as their payment method, Stripe redirects them to Amazon’s website, where they can complete their checkout using the shipping and payment information stored in their Amazon account. After completing the payment, Amazon redirects them to your website.

  • This integration supports the currencies supported by Amazon Pay via Stripe.
  • You can perform Amazon Pay payments via Stripe through Chargebee's In-app layout of Checkout, Full page layout of Checkout, Self-Serve Portal, APIs, and Chargebee.js.

Configure Amazon Pay via Stripe in Chargebee

  1. Log in to your Chargebee Billing site.
  2. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Payment Gateway.
  3. Select Stripe from the list of configured gateways.

Configuring Webhooks

To ensure your Chargebee–Stripe integration works seamlessly, you must configure webhooks in Stripe to listen for specific events. Webhooks allow Chargebee to receive real-time updates from Stripe whenever certain actions (like refunds) occur.

For this integration to function correctly, the following event must be enabled:

  • charge.refund.updated

These events notify Chargebee about the creation, failure, or update of a refund transaction in Stripe, ensuring accurate reflection within your Chargebee account.

To set this up, follow the detailed steps in this document.
