This feature is a Private Beta release. Contact Chargebee Support to enable Naver Pay via Stripe for your live and test sites.

Chargebee now supports Naver Pay via the Stripe payment gateway, enabling South Korea-based customers to pay with this method.

When a customer selects Naver Pay during checkout:

  • They are redirected to a local processor partner (NICEPAY) to authenticate and authorize the payment.
  • After authorization, Stripe redirects the customer back to your Chargebee site.

This integration enhances checkout flexibility and improves conversion for businesses using the Chargebee platform.

Key Features

  • Supports both one-time (say, one-time charges) and recurring (subscriptions) payments.
  • Supports KRW (South Korean Won) as the payment currency.
  • Compatible with:
    • In-app Checkout
    • Full-page Checkout
    • Self-Serve Portal
    • Chargebee.js
    • APIs

Prerequisites

Before setting up Naver Pay in Chargebee:

  • Stripe is configured as a payment gateway in Chargebee.
  • Ensure Naver Pay is enabled in your Stripe account.

Configure Naver Pay via Stripe in Chargebee

To enable Naver Pay payments through Stripe in Chargebee:

  1. Log in to your Chargebee Billing site.
  2. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Payment Gateway.
  3. Select Stripe from the list of configured gateways.

Configuring Webhooks

To ensure your Chargebee–Stripe integration operates smoothly, configure webhooks in Stripe.

Webhooks allow Chargebee to receive real-time updates from Stripe when important events (like refunds) occur.

For this integration to function correctly, the following event must be enabled:

  • charge.refund.updated

These events notify Chargebee about the creation, failure, or update of a refund transaction in Stripe, ensuring accurate reflection within your Chargebee account.
