The addon trial details are not reflecting when I cancelled and reactivated the subscription

Problem Statement

Addon trial details can be lost for two reasons:

  • The subscription was cancelled and reactivated out-of-term (in dunning mode)
  • The subscription was cancelled and reactivated manually

Solution

Subscription cancellation and reactivation (dunning)

When subscriptions are canceled due to dunning rules, addons on trial are canceled as well. Two scenarios apply during reactivation:

In-term reactivation

If the subscription is reactivated before the renewal date/time, the addon continues to function upon reactivation. The trial end date/time set originally does not change.

Out-of-term reactivation

If the subscription is reactivated after the renewal date/time, the addon term is reset and the trial no longer applies. The customer will be charged for the subscription and addons, regardless of whether the trial period was completed.

Subscription cancellation and reactivation (manual)

When a subscription is canceled manually, the subscription term is not retained. Addons on trial linked to that subscription are canceled. See Subscription Cancellation/Reactivation (Manual).

When the same subscription is reactivated, the subscription and addons move to Active status and are charged in full.
