Apply taxes without collecting address in the checkout

Problem Statement

I charge the same tax for all regions but don't want to collect addresses. I sell digital goods in one region/country only.

Solution

You can pre-fill the billing country so taxes are calculated automatically even when customers don't enter an address. Disable all billing fields except country, then hide the country field and set a default value.

Steps to Set It Up

1. Go to Settings > Configure Chargebee > Checkout & Self-Service Portal > Fields

2. Disable all billing fields except Billing country

3. Edit the Country field and set it to Hide in checkout
4. Choose a country from the dropdown to pre-fill and click Apply

5. Click Publish
