Can I build a report for MRR based on Customer monthly trends?

Problem Statement

This article explains how to build a report that shows the MRR trend per customer across months using Report Builder in Revenue Story.

Solution

Report Builder does not have a built-in MRR-by-customer-monthly-trend report. You can create one using the Monthly Subscription History data source.

Steps to Set It Up

1. Go to RevenueStory > Report Builder.
2. Select Create a Summary Report.
3. Select Monthly Subscription History as the base data source.
4. In Row grouping, add Customer ID or Company from the Customers data source.
5. In Column grouping, add MRR Changed Date from Monthly Subscription History and group by Month and Year.
6. In Summarization (aggregation/measure), add MRR (Monthly) from Monthly Subscription History and aggregate using Sum.
7. Click Build Report.
