This article explains why limited-period coupons appear in monthly MRR but not in yearly MRR, and how to include them when needed.
A limited-period coupon (for example, 12 months) applied to a yearly subscription is treated as a one-time coupon for that subscription and is not included in MRR. The same coupon applied to a monthly subscription is recurring and is included in MRR.
Workaround: Flexible MRR Calculation
Chargebee offers Flexible MRR Calculation, which can include one-time coupons and charges in MRR. This feature must be enabled by Chargebee on request.
Note:
Even with Flexible MRR enabled, a limited-duration coupon on a yearly subscription is still excluded from MRR. To have a coupon counted in MRR for a yearly subscription, use a one-time coupon instead of a limited-duration coupon.
