Stripe Error: "This Connect account cannot currently make live charges"

Problem Statement

Checkout fails with the Stripe error: "This Connect account cannot currently make live charges. The requirements.disabled_reason property on the account will provide information about why this account is currently disabled. If you are a customer trying to make a purchase, please contact the owner of this site. Your transaction has not been processed."

Solution

This error comes from Stripe and usually means the Stripe Connect account is not fully activated. Stripe may need additional information before live charges are allowed.

Steps to Set It Up

1. Log in to your Stripe Dashboard.
2. Look for an Activate Account link (often in the top left).
3. Complete the activation steps. The error should stop once activation is done.
