Only Hosted Pages

This requires nil development effort, and you don't have to worry about PCI Compliance: our hosted pages are PCI Level 1 compliant.

Here's a business scenario where integrating via Chargebee's hosted page would be the best bet:

Andrew runs a subscription box service for delivering nutritious food to their customers every week. They accept electronic payments, but don't have the time and resources to develop their own sign up pages. Also, they do not want to worry about PCI Compliance.

The simplest way for Andrew to start about integrating with Chargebee is by using our ready-to-use hosted pages for subscription checkouts. Learn more about hosted pages integration here.

Hosted Pages with API Integration

This would require minimal development effort from your end which would enable you to harness the benefits of API integration. Also, you still don't have to worry about PCI Compliance.

Let's look at how this might suit Andrew's business:

Andrew's business and customer base has grown since they'd started using Chargebee for billing management. They decide that they want to provide an in-app checkout experience for their customers. However, they're still not ready to get into the nitty-gritties of PCI Compliance.

In this case, Andrew could choose to go for Chargebee's hosted pages+API integration. This would require minimal development effort on their part, which would give them the flexibility to either use an embedded (in-app) view or a full page redirection of the hosted page.

Complete API Integration

With our RESTful API , Chargebee can be integrated with your application or website.

Here's an example where a complete API integration would be the best option:

Brita runs a SaaS business, where she offers her customers a time management software tool for a monthly fee. She wants to provide her own checkout experience for customers. She is willing to take up developmental efforts to fully own her sign-up and checkout pages if it would optimize user experience. She can also take care of PCI Compliance.

Brita could achieve this by going in for a complete API  integration, which would give her the required flexibility to create the checkout workflow as per her business requirements.

If you use Braintree or Stripe for a gateway, you could also integrate using the Braintree.js  or Stripe.js  for integration.
