Issue Overview

The error “NetSuite request failed [You do not have permissions to edit this transaction]” occurs when syncing invoices to NetSuite. This typically happens due to:

  • The invoice has an old invoice date.
  • The accounting books are being closed, preventing date updates.

Solution**

Allow Non-G/L Changes in NetSuite
To resolve this, follow these steps in NetSuite:
1.Navigate to Setup > Accounting > Manage Accounting Periods.
2.Select and edit the closed periods.
3.Check the box for Allow Non-G/L Changes.
4.Click Save.

Reinitiate the Sync in Chargebee

Once the changes are made in NetSuite:

  1. Go to Chargebee > Apps > NetSuite.
    2.Reinitiate the sync process.

Conclusion

By enabling Allow Non-G/L Changes in NetSuite, you permit updates to non-financial fields without reopening the accounting period. This allows Chargebee to successfully sync invoices without violating NetSuite’s accounting restrictions.
